We are delighted to say that next friday we will be kicking off this years tastings in a big way, with an in depth look at the wonderful wines of the Rhone Valley and the ethics, techniques and history of winemaker Michel Chapoutier.
Dating back to Roman times, yet now one of the most prestigious, diverse and historic wine producing region of France, the Rhone Valley is know across the globe for it’s rich, velvety and sumptuous reds. The winemaker we have chosen to feature, M.Chapoutier, is one of the true pioneers of region, makes some absolutely delicious wines using only sustainable viticulture practices!
“For the last two hundred years in the Rhone Valley, Chapoutier has been producing some of the greatest wines: Hermitage, Côte Rôtie, Chateauneuf du Pape, Saint-Joseph, Crozes Hermitage & Luberon. Our own vineyards and the single vineyards we select are cultivated either organically or biodynamically to respect the terroir. All our labels are also in braille.”
This is an excellent opportunity to learn a little more about the history of this glorious region and find out about a few or the core grape varieties in the area: Syrah, Grenache & Mourvedre. We will of course have a few cheeky surprises thrown in to tantalise the taste-buds.
Hopefully you are as excited as we are..
