3rd October: Forgotten France and Lost Grapes

Friday October 3rd 7:45-10 @Le Mouton Rouge – tickets in advance £15
As summer turns to autumn, harvest approaches and the winter nights begin to draw in…
Yet never fear, our in store tastings are always a reason to feel warm and cheery!
Autumn Grapes
Next Friday we will be returning to the wines of France, a wonderful wine producing country, with many familiar regions, grapes and styles. Leaving traditional favourites aside, we shall be taking a look at some of the the forgotten wine producing regions of France and unusual grape varieties that don’t often pop up.

If you are unfamiliar with the tantalising aromas and flavours of wines from Marmandais, the Auvergne, Corsica and Jura or lesser known grape varieties such as Grolleau, Arbouriou or Folle blanche, then this is an exciting opportunity to try them out and perhaps learn a little more.
President
We will be joined on the night by Didier Cappa, a jovial wine enthusiast, whose aim is often to seek out such unconventional yet fantastic wines from small producers across France! He will be guiding us through our wines and together we will be unearthing some absolute gems from little known French appellations that are often overlooked.

Our tastings tend to be jolly, informal events, and this really will be a fascinating insight into some rare and delicious wines.

Now held in store at Le Mouton Rouge places are limited, so please email or call us to reserve your place, alternatively feel free to pop in to the store to purchase a ticket!
